Professors @ Work: Decimals Word Problems

Hello, Maths professors!

It's heartening to learn that you've enjoyed the group activity on solving word problems. I'm sure everyone has learnt a lot from the group discussion as well as the class presentation.

Hope that you will remember to draw diagrams and ask yourself "What can we do/find first?" whenever we solve word problems. Lastly, break the problems into parts so that it will be easier for you to understand the sentences.

Temperature taking exercise

There will be a temperature taking exercise on Thursday (02/07/2015).

Students are reminded to bring their thermometers and report directly to class for morning assembly.

1. Write a review of a book you have read during the school holidays. Remember to include the following points when writing the review in your journal:
1. What was the book about?
2. Did you like the book? Why?
3. Who was your favourite character?
4. Why is he/she your favourite character?
5. Did you learn anything interesting from reading the book?

Science

1. Group project on experimental design
1. As a group, design an experiment related to factors affecting the germination of seeds.
2. Groups are given 3 pots and seeds to do the experiment. 
3. Groups are to record method of conducting experiment and results observed from the experiment.

The semester break is here again! :) Do make use of it to have a good rest and revise your work.
